This Week

July 22, 2013

So this week, we took one of my companions to San Francisco because she got her Argentine visa. That was a fun road trip (we made a sign that said "Mormon.org" and held it up to all the people that drove by with a pass-along picture that had Jesus Christ on it). We probably would have baptized them all in the bay if there had been elders with us. But we're obedient, so there weren't.
We're just seeing so many miracles. I'm finally catching up in my journal so I can remember all of them, but we've got a woman we picked up last week as an investigator who has sir-oh-sis of the liver (I don't know how to spell that, so I will just do it phonetically) and is basically dying. she needs the gospel so badly and loves what we share. We dropped off three cupcakes another member gave us for her birthday and she cried. I love being an instrument in God's hands. Also, one of our investigators came to church this week and she had a really good experience. It was magical.

The transfer is almost over. I'm closer to 8 months than I am to 7, and I'm closer to my halfway mark than I am to the beginning of my mission. I've probably learned this transfer that I need to make sure I do not let my faith waver. I wavered this transfer, a lot. I tried to stop, but I learned a lot about my foundation. I've been praying the whole transfer for God to put the prepared people in my path, and we've found some remarkable and golden investigators lately. They are so prepared, and I find myself struggling to hope that they will get baptized because they are so wonderful and I just sit here and say what's going to go wrong? Then I remember that I've been praying for this for so long. He's coming through for me. It's amazing.
Sister McLaws is one of my favorite companions ever. I'm so enjoying our time together. We laugh all the time. She wants to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World and has this four-foot long dolphin that she likes to throw at me kamikaze style in the middle of the night. Then I throw it back. We do that a lot.

We just laugh all the time and we're working so hard and I love it! We can't wait to go back to BYU together--we're going to go to the Spanish branch and be there together. And we're striving so hard to improve our Spanish.

love to you all,

Hna Cooper

P.S. Also, Christian, Nick and Natalie: Please read Alma 38:2, I was reading about Mormon in the book of Mormon and kept imagining Christian doing all those things. He totally could. He fits the description.

Torie:   Alma 38 and 33. Read them and love them.
